>It is shown that the assumption that the rise of pp total cross sections at ISR energies can be understood by the existence of a contribution proportional to In/sup 2/s is nut necessarily within the existing knowledge of experimental data. Also by assuming that asymptotically Re F ~- s ln/sup 2/s together with sigma T~ ln/sup 2/s it is possib le to propose a parametrization which seems interesting both from the experimental and theoretical points of view.
