Real part of the pp amplitude and rising cross sections

Journal Article · · Nucl. Phys., B, v. B65, no. 2, pp. 333-345
The new experimental evidence of a rising pp total cross section ( sigma /sup pp/) makes it necessary to recalculate the real part of the forward scattering amplitude, which previously has been calculated assuming sigma /sup pp/ yields constant asymptotically. The results of dispersion relations calculations of the real part at all energies are presented, with various assumptions about the asymptotic behavior of both sigma /sub pp/ and sigma /sub pp/, consistent with the latest experimental data.
