Possible use of a /sup 119m/Sn source for x-radiometric analysis of molybdenum ores (in Russian)

A special /sup 119m/Sn source, x in a cylindrical Al tube, 5 mm dia by S mm high, and having an activity of 1 to 20 mCi, was constructed for use in Mo determination. Use of the source for Mo determination in a series of model ores, using a wide solid angle with no collimation of the apparatus and with a xenon proportional counter as detector, showed a sensitivity to 0.005% Mo, compared to 0.02% with a /sup 109/Cd source. An advantage of the /sup 119m/Sn source is that with it, Cu and W cau be determined simultaneously. (TTT)
