Non-resonant background and recoil-free fraction of a BaSnO$sub 3$ /sup 119m/Sn Moessbauer source

The optimum thickness of Pd foil required to reduce the x-ray background emission for a thin BaSnO/sub 3/ /sup 119m/Sn Moessbauer source has been measured. The recoil-free fraction of the /sup 119m/Sn nuclei in the source has also been determined. (auth)
