Tritium labeling of 20-methylcholanthrene (in German)

Journal Article · · Isotopenpraxis, v. 9, no. 5, pp. 174-175
OSTI ID:4390621

Through a modified Wilzbach procedure, 20-methylcholanthrene was labeled with tritium. Electrical discharges were used as an external energy source. In comparison with the original Wilzbach procedure, the new method yielded products of a much higher specific activity. The products were annlyzed by spectrophotometry, thin layer chromatography, and radiochromatography. The labeled 20-methyl-cholanthrene was very stable. The material could be stored as a benzene solution at room temperature; the yellowish coloration became somewhat more intense during storage. (HBG)
