A brief review is given of various measurement processes currently used in industry, i.e., magnetic attraction, magnetic flux, eddy currents, thermoelectricity, BETA particle backscattering, x-ray gages, x-ray emission resulting from BETA particle bombardment, and x-ray fluorescence. The measurement of thicknesses by ultrasound and the detection of faults are then examined. The utilization of radioisotopes in industry is discussed together with detector development. (FR)
