Comparative studies on glycine ($sup 14$C) incorporation in liver proteins after irradiation

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend. Acad. Bulg. Sci., v. 26, no. 8, pp. 1117-1120

The incorporation rate of giycine (/sup 14/C) in total protein, in protein of polysomes, and in the protein fraction of the post-ribosomal supernatant was studied in white rats following a single irradiation of the liver with an 800 R dose. The changes in glycine incorporation in liver proteins under x irradiation follows the outline of the modified metabolic path of the cysteic amino acids. On the second day after irradiation, cysteine synthesis is higher, which corresponds to the highest values of incorporation of glycine in the protein fraction of post-ribosomal supernatant. (ERB)
