Internal friction of electron-irradiated cold-worked aluminium

Journal Article · · Radiat. Eff., v. 19, no. 4, pp. 277-279
Cold-worked aluminium presents several internal friction peaks: the Bordoni peaks B/sub 1/ and B/sub 2/ attributed to dislocation kink relaxation; and the Hasiguti peaks P/sub A/ and P/sub B/ explained in terms of interactions between dislocations and point defects. The purpose of the present note is to establish the nature of the defect interacting in the Hasiguti peaks; it is shown that it is possible to create a peak by introducing irradiation point defects into a sample containing convenient dislocations and that this peak presents all the characteristics of a classical P/sub B/ peak.
