From fifth international conference on internal friction and ultrasonic attenuation in crystalline solids; Aachen, Germany (27 Aug 1973). The effects of fatigue caused by torsion at 78 deg K on the internal friction spectrum of aluminum were studied. The defects created during the fatigue test lead to the formation of a striking peak P/sub B/ and to a modification of the characteristics of the Bordoni relaxation. A comparison can be made between the effects of irradiation and fatigue. (GE)
