Translated from Prib. Tekn. Eksp.; 16: No. 4, 82-84(1973). A threshold detector is described for measurement of a flux of neutrons having an energy of 14 MeV from a pulsed neutron generator. The detector was a ZnS + B scintillation counter that uses a /sup 11/B (n, alpha )/sup 8/Li yields 2 alpha plus or minus BETA /sup -/ reaction. For a d etector having the dimensions 30 x 50 mm a sensitivity of 6800 pulses/min/10/sup 8/ neutrons/sec was achieved. The detector was used for continuous recording of the neutron flux in activation analysis of elements in moving media. (auth)
