Experimental studies on the contamination of living bodies by the intake of radioactive substances ($sup 90$Sr, $sup 89$Sr, $sup 144$Ce) and their influences, especially on the accumulation and disturbances of radioisotope (RI) in rodents (in Japanese)

In report 1, rats were given /sup 90/Sr at different doses (0.3, 1.0, 3.0 mu Ci/g) and different methods (intraperitoneally, orally) and the relationship between effects and contamination by /sup 90/Sr of body organs and administration conditions was investigated. In Report 2, rabbits were given /sup 89/Sr by different doses (0.1, 0.5 mu Ci/g) and different methods (subcutaneously, intravenously), and the relationship between influence of /sup 89/Sr on development of the diameter of the incisor tooth and administration conditions was investigated. In Report 3, rabbits were given /sup 90/Sr or /sip 144/Ce and the effects on the number of leukocytes and dentification mechanism were investigated. In Report 1, /sup 90/Sr distributed in organs was enhanced in accordance with increasing dose, showing higher amount in the hard tissue than in the soft tissue, and highe amount in the intraperitoneally injected group than in the orally administered group. In Report 2, a high amount of /sup 89/Sr distribution was observed in the hard tissue, and all experimental groups showed reduction in weight. The group in which 0.1 mu Ci/g of /sup 89/r was administered showed no remarkable difference by administration method, while the group in which 0.5 mu Ci/g of /sup 89/Sr was administered showed remarkable weight reduction in the intravenously injected group. In the 0.1 mu Ci/g administered group, the influence on teeth growth by adrministration method was not remarkable, while in the 0.5 mu Ci/g administered group, remarkable reduction in diameter of the incisor teeth was noted in the intravenously administered group. In Report 3, the number of leukocytes decreased remarkably in accordance with increasing dose, and its recovery was prolonged in both /sup 90/Sr and /sup 144/Ce administered groups. On histopathological examination of the teeth, peridental tissue, bone marrow, etc., regressive degenerations, such as atrophic changes, and vacuole formation, tended to occur frequently in accordance with increasing dose, (JA)
