Five years of operation of the Gundremmingen Nuclear Power Plant

From international nuclear industries fair; Basel, Switzerland (16 Oct 1972). At the beginning of the refueling outage in May, 1972, the 250 MW Gundremmingen Nuclear Power Plant (KRB) completed five years of commercial service. The plant has operated at essentially a 100 percent capacity factor between each refueling outage since the completion of the first refueling outage in August, 1969. In the five continuous years of operation there have been no forced outages caused by the nuclear steam supply system (NSSS). Information gained during this five-year period on plant performance, fuel performance, equipment maintenance, and the effect of plant effluents on plant environs is presented. (auth)
