From international nuclear industries fair; Basel, Switzerland (16 Oct 1972). The top shield of the vessel for the sodium-cooled fast breeder reactor SNR-300 is designed as a rotating-plug system. The system comprises 3 rotating- plugs arranged eccentrically inside one another. Gas-tightness is achieved by means of two inflatable seals whose interspace is slightly pressurized by a purge gas. The rotating plugs are supported by a wire-ball bearing. Seals and bearing can be exchanged without difficulty. (auth)
