From international nuclear industries fair; Basel, Switzerland (16 Oct 1972). Designing and manufacturing a loading plug (or rotating shield plug) for the Phenix Reactor present various problems relating to a wide number of fields. After consideration of the functions of the Phenix loading plug, an analysis is made of the most important options taken during the design period. The loading plug is then described with its principle data. The main features of the manufacture of these parts, both in the shops and on site are recalled. (auth)
