From topical conference on atomic and molecular studies; Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA (22 Mar 1973). In topical corference on atomic and molecular studies at ORNL, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, March 22-23, 1973. A group was formed for the advancement of heavy ion source technology with partlcular emphasis on negative heavy ion sources for use with tandem accelerators and highly charged positive ion sources for use with cyclotrons and linear accelerators. Prototype ion sources will be bullt and studied, and also some of the basic physical phenomena important ln ion sources will be studied. (JFP)
