Thesis. Using hard x-rays (30, 35, 42 MeV, the dose distribution in pendulum irradiations is investigated. With the help of a 42 MeVbetatron the measurements were performed on a homogeneous, water-equivalert phantom. An optimum depth dose is obtained using small field widths and large pendulum angles. The merits of the pendulum method are a low dose before and behind the focus and a uniform dose distribution throughout the focal region. (GE)
