Experimental investigations on depth dose distribution in irradiation with ultrahard x rays of 25, 35, and 42 MeV (in German)

Thesis. The depth dose distribution was measured for 25, 35 and 42 MeV x rays with different focus-skin-distances and field widths. With a Siemens betatron, a water-equivalent phantom and three parts (skull, chest and pelvis) of a nearly body-equivalent phantom (ALDERSON RANDO) were irradiated. For the deep x-ray therapy with focal depths of more than 8 cm 42 MeV x rays are more suitable than Cobalt-80 gamma rays. (GE)
