Thesis. The investigations show that the application of pendulum irradiation in the therapy of human brain neoplasms seems to be quite useful. It is possible to concentrate the maximum dose to the focus and the radiation dose to the healthy parts of the brain is essentially smaller than it would be in the case of photon irradiation or standing-field irradiation with fast electrons. Compared with the moving-field irradiation using /sup 60/Co- gamma -rays, the moving-field irradiation with fast electrons still offers advantages with regard to the dose distribution. (GE)
