An additional reactor, designated as the BSR-II, is proposed for the ORNL Bulk Shielding Facility. A description of the mechanical features and the dimensions of the reactor, the nuclear and heat transfer characteristics as calculated, and a discussion of the proposed control system, including the results of experimental investigations of the proposed control system and its dynamic behavior, are presented.
