ROD DROP TESTS FOR THE BSR-II TRANSIENT AND CONTROL RODS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4019210
Rod displacement was measured as a function of time for both the control and transient rods in the spring-accelerated modular control-rod drive for the Bulk Shielding Reactor II (BSR-II). The measurements were performed by dropping the rods from heights ranging from 1 to 12 in. above the seat position. A composite displacement curve was drawn for all BSR-II spring-loaded control rods.
