Pion--nucleus reactions

In lectures from the LAMPF summer school. Inelastic scattering and charge-exchange reactions are discussed in the framework of a generalized optical model for the pion--nucleus system. Optical model wave functions are also used as distorted waves for the calculation of pion absorption and production processes. (auth)
