Resonances in the reaction /sup 60/Ni(p, gamma )/sup 61/Cu have been studied in the proton energy ranges E/sub p/ = 1,840-- 1,880 keV and 2,220-2,300 keV. Decay schemes and branching ratios have been determined for a number of resonances, three of which are identified as analog fragments of the 283 keV (1/2/ sup -/) and 656 keV (3/2/sup -/) states in /sup 61/Ni. The split analog components of the 283 keV state at E/sub x/ p 6.6 MeV are seen to decay significantly to a group of states in the region of excitation 3-4 MeV. Gamma ray angular distributions yield the following resonance spins: E/sub p/ = 2,248 keV, J = 3/2; E/sub p/ = 2,263 keV, J = 5/2. Also, the /sup 61/Cu ground state BETA /sup +/ decay to pare nt levels in /sup 61/Ni has been compared to the respective analog state M1 gamma decay to the /sup 61/Cu ground state.
