A high-accuracy investigation of the level scheme of /sup 47/V was performed using the /sup 46/Ti(p, gamma )/sup 47/V reaction. The gamma -decay schemes of the strong (p, gamma ) resonances at E/sub p/ = 1546, 1549, 1565, and 1572 keV lead to 17 new energy levels in /sup 47/V with excitation energies between 2.7 and 5.1 MeV. From the (p, gamma ) angular distributions mixing ratios of the primary gamma transitions and J/sup pi / values of the resonances and of many states populated in the gamma decay were determined. The total width of the E/sub p/ = to be GAMMA /sub gamma / = 0.12, 0.15, and 0.03 eV, respectively. The Q value of the /sup 46/Ti(p, gamma )/sup 47/V reaction was found to be 5168.6 keV. The two resonances at E/sub p/ = 1549 and 1565 keV, which have J/sup pi / =3/2are interpreted as fine-structure components of the analog state of the E* = 2.545 MeV, J/sup pi / = 3/2- level in /sup 47/ Ti; while the (7/2) resonance at E/sub p/ = 1546 keV might correspond to the E* == 2.615 MeV, 7/2- parent slate in /sup 47/Ti. The analog-antianalog M1 transition strength of the split 3/2- analog state is 0.01 singleparticle units, and fits well into the systematics of IAS yields AIAS transitions in fp-shell nuclei.
