A method is offered for the synthesis of plutonyl fluoride by precipitation from hydrochloric acid solutions of hexavalent plutonium by liquid hydrogen fluoride. The properties of plutonyl fluoride were investigated, and chemical analysis determined its composition as PuO/sub 2/F/sub 2/. (R.V.J.)
