Intrinsic and rotational excitations in $sup 175$Lu

The gamma -ray cascades following the /sup 176/Yb(p,2n)/sup 175/Lu reaction are studied with Ge(Li) detectors and interpreted within the level scheme of /sup 175/Lu. According to this interpretation the 1/2/sup +/STA411!, 1/ 2/sup -/STA541!, 5/2/sup +/STA402!, 7/2/sup +/STA404! and 9/2/sup -/STA514! rotational bands are observed up to the 15/2/sup +/, 21/2/sup -/, 13/2/sup +/, 19/ 2/sup +/ and 19/2/sup -/ members, re spectively. Furthermore, the energy of the 1/2, 1/2/sup +/STA411! band head is determined to be 626.6 keV. The data for the rotational bands are discussed within the particle-rotor model and compared with the available information on the corresponding bands in the adjacent Lu isotopes. (auth)
