RADIOPROTECTIVE PROPERTIES OF CYSTAMINE FOR THE YOUNG RAT AND CHICKEN (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. rend. soc. biol.
OSTI ID:4315148
The behavior of young rats and chickens of the same age submitted to a minimum 100% lethal radiation with a dose of 100 r/min is very different. The deaths occur mostly in the first 48 hours in the chicken; in the rat it does not occur until the 6th day. Cystamine protects rats against thc lethal effects of x rays, but it accelerates the death of the irradiated chickens. (J.S.R.)
