THE SOLUBILITY OF URANYL COMPOUNDS IN ALKALI NITRATE-NITRITE MELTS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4313668
The solubilities of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate and anhydrous uranyl sulfate were measured in NaNO/sub 3/ NaNO, and NaNO/sub 2/KNO/sub 3/ eutectic mixtures at temperatures ranging from 200 to 330 deg C. It seems that, even at the lowest temperature, both compounds decompose to UO/sub 3/ (or a sodium uranate) the solubility of which is negligible (probably less than 0.02% U). (auth)
