A total of 70 male rats, weighing 130 g each, were administered 0.5 mu Ci Na/sub 2/H/sup 32/PO/sub 4/ intraperitoneally in conjunction with stan dard diet. Groups of animals were decapitated 2 hours after administration of the radioactive phosphorus, and other groups were decapitated subsequent to irradiation with 200 to 800 R x-rays at various periods preceding or following the administration. The concentration of /sup 32/P was determined in the blood and in the suprarenal gland. The isotope concentration increased 2 hours after administration of the /sup 32/P in the gland, and there was evidence of a resistance reaction if there was subsequent x-ray irradiation of the whole body. All irradiated animals showed a significant decrease in the plasma/blood /sup 32/ P ratio after irradiation. (JPRS)
