Backward-angle anomalies in alpha-particle elastic scattering

Journal Article · · Phys. Lett., B, v. 48B, no. 5, pp. 413-416
The backward-angle anomalies in elastic alpha-particle scattering were recently attributed to exchange processes such as heavyparticle stripping and knock-on. Using a parameter-free treatment, it is shown that the so far neglected one-particle exchange arising from the antisymmetrization between the projectile and the target nucleus is important and should be considered in any quantitative analysis of the anomalous alpha-backscattering.
