T(t,/cap alpha/)n,n REACTION

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The alpha particle spectra from the T(t, alpha )n,n reaction were measured at a laboratory angle of 30 deg for triton energles ranging from 0.95 to 2.10 Mev and at laboratory angles of 30, 50, 90, and 120 deg for 1.9-Mev incident tritons. Absolute cross sections are obtained. Analysis of the spectra in terms of a two-stage process involving the formation and breakup of He/sup 5/ is discussed. Evidence for neutron-neutron correlation is observed but no evidence is found for a bound dineutron. (auth)
