Energy and angle dependence of calcium fluoride and lithium fluoride thermoluminescent dosimetry systems

Journal Article · · Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology
Effects of x-ray exposure geometry on CaF/sub 2/ and LiF thermoluminescent dosimeters have been characterized at a variety of x-ray beam energies. Results indicate limited usefulness of CaF/sub 2/ chips for determination of patient dose from dental radiographic procedures. The response of CaF/sub 2/ chips is dependent upon the angle of incidence of the dental x-ray beam and upon its energy.
