In the process of fabrication and development and in the stability of the latent image, pH plays an essential role. Experimeuts were made to determine the effect of pH on the sensitivity of nuclear emulsions and to show that a variation of the sensitivity is reversible. The pH limits between which there is an reversible and an irreversible variation of the sensitivity were established. (J.S.R.)
