Investigations of the F/sup 20/ BETA spectrum were made with a magnetic lens BETA spectrometer by bombarding a LiF target ( approximately 0.4 mg/cm/sup 2/) with 4-Mev deuterons. The F/sup 20/ BETA spectrum was obtained by substracting the Li/sup 8/ BETA spectrum from the combined F/sup 20/ and Li/sup 8/ spectra. The Fermi graph for F/sup 20/ was a straight line. The F/sup 20/ upper boundary was (5.45 plus or minus 0.05) Mev. The ratio of the eross sections of sigma (F/sup 19/ )/ sigma (Li/sup 7/) was determined from the curves of Li/sup 8/ and F/sup 20/ to be ~1.5. The spectrum for F/sup 17/ was obtained for the reaction O/sup 16/(d,n)F/sup 17/. (R.V.J.)
