CONVERSION ELECTRON SPECTRUM OF Gd$sup 14$$sup 9$ (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Izvest. Akad. Nauk S.S.S.R. Ser. Fiz.

The conversion electron spectrurn of gadolinium, segregated from a tantalum target irradiated in a synchrotron, was studied with an 0.5% resolving power magnetic spectrometer. The conversion lines varied with time at different rates, indicating the presence of various isotopes. Curves were plotted for each conversion line. Electron conversion lines corresponding to T,/sub 1/2/ = 10 plus or minus 1 day were related to Gd/sup 149/ (decay curves are presented). The transition energies and relative intensities of Gd/sup 149/ conversion lines were tabulated and the spectra of Gd/sup 149/ conversion electrons at 200 to 350 and 400 to 550 kev are presented graphically, as well as the conversion lines of E/sup y/ = 149.8 kev. The data contributed to a determination of multiplicities in Eu/syp 149/ nuclear transitions. The hypothetical decay scheme of Gd/sup 149/ - Eu/sup 149/ is presented in two variations. (R.V.J.)
