The nuclear g-factor of the 181-kev level of Tc/sup 99/ was determined by measuring the angular correlation of the 741-181 kev gamma-gamma cascade in an external magnetic field. The result, g = plus or minus 1.44 plus or minus 0.13, yields a magnetic moment of 3.6 plus or minus 0.3 nuclear magnetons for the spin assignment 5/2. A study of the disintegration confirmed the known decay scheme, but an additional gamma ray of 950 kev was found. Coincidence measurements proved that this gamma ray is a transition to the 181-kev level. A new determination of the half life time of the 181-kev level confirmed the known value, but the limits of error were reduced to: T/sub 1/2/ = 3.57 plus or minus 0.05 x 10/sup -9/s. The angular correlation function of the 741-kev181- kev cascade was measured as W( THETA ) = 1 + (0.118 plus or minus 0.0111 x P/sub 2/ (cos THETA ) -(0.003 plus or minus 0.0081 x P/sub 4/ (cos THETA ) and the 741-kev-41-kev-140-kev triple cascade as W( THETA ) = P/sub 4/ (cos THETA ). The source was prepared as ammonium molybdate in liquid solution. Delayed coincidence measurements showed weak perturbations by internal fields. The results are discussed.
