POSSIBLE EXPLANATION OF HYPERFRAGMENT SUPPRESSION IN K$sup -$-d REACTIONS

One of the reactions that can occur when a K/sup -/ meson is captured from an atomic orbit about a deuteron is hat the probability of the formation of the ( EPSILON /sup -/, n) bound state via the s-wave capture process from the 2P orbit is one onder of magnitude smaller than for the processes considered by Pais and Treiman.
