A two-dimensional solvent system was developed for the radiochromatographic analysis of phosphnte esters in filter paper. Good resolution of the di- and triphosphates was achieved. The method was applied in a study of the identity of the major phosphorus metabolites in the yeast Torulopsis utilis following the addition of phosphorus-32-labeled orthophosphate to the nutrient growth media.
