The fixation of Ce/sup 144/ was studied in suspensions of white blood cells of the rabbit, in suspensions of human white blood cells, and on the white blood cells in the whole blood of the rabbit. The results showed a strong fixation of cerium on the white blood cells, a fixation as strong in vivo as in vitro. The use of Ce/sup 144/ in making white blood cells is prohibited in humans because of its 275-day half life and the energy of its beta rays. However, the properties of Ce/sup 147/ makes its use possible. Ce/sup 144/ can be used in animals. (J.S.R.)
