KINETICS OF THE HYDROLYSIS OF BORON AMINE TRIFLUORIDE (in Russian)
A method was developed for the direct determination of boron amine trifiuoride in the presence of products of its hydrolysis. The hydrolysis of H/ sub 3/N: BF/sub 3/ in aqueous solutions is a first order reaction. The dependence of the rate constant (in min/sup -1/) on the temperature is described by the equation lg k/sub min/sup -1/ = 14.70 - 5945/T. The experimental energy of activation equals 27.2 kcal min/sup -1/, the entropy of activation oy melts below sS= = 3.2 cal. degree/sup -1/. The hydrolysis of H/sub 3/N: BF/sub 3/ is not catalyzed by H/sup +/ ions. It is catalyzed by F/sup-/ ions proportionally to their concentration and proceeds very rapidly under the action of OH/sup -/. The experimental activation energy is not changed in the presence of F/sup -/ ions. (auth)
