Studies were made of the luminescence and scintillation properties of 1,2-di(1-naphthyl)ethylene in polysterole. Plastmass scintillators, with 1,2- di(1naphthyl)ethylene the basic admixtures or as spectrum displacers, were prepared by high temperature polymerization. With gamma excitation the luminosity approaches 125 to 130% and 140 to 145% of the luminosity of 2% pi - terphenyl in polystyrene. (tr-auth)
