THE DETERMINATION OF IRON IN BERYLLIUM COMPOUNDS (FLUORIDE, HYDROXIDE AND AMMONIUM FLUORBERYLLATE)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4235446

Solutions of the samples are fumed with sulfuric acid to remove fluoride and the residues dissolved in water. The iron content is determined absorptiometrically after formation of the o-phenanthroline complex. The method is suitable for the deternnination of 5 to 1600 ppm of iron in beryllium fluoride and up to 800 ppm in ammonlum fluoberyllate and beryllium hydroxide. Except at the lower levels the error should not exceed plus or minus 5%. (auth)
