Tungsten is converted to the dithiol complex and extracted into amyl acetate. The absorbency of the extract is measured at 640 m mu on a spectrophotometer, or alternatively on a Spekker absorptiometer using Ilford Filters No. 608. The method covers the range 5 to 200 ppm of tungsten. The error except in the lowest part of the range should not exceed 5%. (auth)
