The sample is fused with potassium pyrosulfate and the resulting melt dissolved in water. Molybdenum is determined by extraction of the dithiol complex into amyl acetate and measurement of the absorbancy of the extract at 685 m mu . The method covers the range 1 to 50 mu g of molybdenum. The error except in the lowest ranges should not exceed plus or minus 5%. (auth)
