THE DETERMINATION OF COMBINED CARBON IN BERYLLIUM METAL (BY IGNITION WITH A GASOMETRIC FINISH)
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4234057
evolved gases (methane and hydrogen) are passed over copper oxide at 850 deg C, The water produced is removed, and the carbon dioxide is measured by means of a gasometric finish, The method is applicable to beryllium flakes powders swarfs and ingot. Provided that the sample is homogeneous the precision is of the order of plus or minus 10%, but plus or minus 30 ppm at low levels (< 330 ppm). The lower limit of detection is approximately 30 ppm.
