A HIGH CURRENT SWITCH OF LOW INDUCTANCE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4231575
A switch was constructed using three type 5555 ignitrons, which has demonstrated an ability to deliver currents of 800,000 amperes at 20 kv, from a capacitor bank of ~130 microfarads. The currert discharge is a decaying sinusoidal wave with a period of ~16.5 microseconds. (W. L. H.)
