SECONDARY STARS CREATED IN THE INTERACTION BETWEEN 8.7 Bev PROTONS AND PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSION NUCLEI (in Russian)

Secondary irteractions involving fast neutrons, protons, and pi mesons produced in a photographic emulsion stack by 8.7 Mev proton bombardment were studied. It was found that on the average 0.68 plus or minus 0.07 fast neutrons per star are produced. Fast nucleous carry off (55 plus or minus 9)% and fast pi mesons (33 plus or minus 9)% of the primary nucleon energy. (auth)
