A method was developed for the electrolytic separation of phases in Cu-- Ni--Si systems. In alloys with 1.5% Si and 3, 7, 12, and 20% Ni, three phases were found, delta -Ni/sub 2/Si, Ni/sub 5/Si/sub 2/ and Ni/sub 3/Si, without copper and i n equilibrium with the corresponding copper-base solutions. Solid solutions of alloys with 7% Ni are in equilibrium with the delta -Ni/sub 2/Si phase. At 500 to 700 deg C alloys with 12% Ni are in equilibrium with the Ni/sub 5/Si/sub 2/ phase, while with 20 to 25% Ni and 1.5 to 5% Si the Ni/sub 5/Si/sub 2/ and Ni/sub 3/Si phases are in equilibrium with the solid solution.
