L TO K ELECTRON CAPTURE RATIO IN Ge$sup 7$$sup 1$

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
ABS>By comparison of the number of 0.175-Mev gamma rays occurring in the decay of As/sup 71/ with the number of gallium K x-rays proceeding from Ge/sup 71/ K capture, the relative amount of L capture in Ge/sup 71/ was determined indirectly. Solid sources and a scintillation spectrometer were employed. The Ge/sup 71/ L/K electron capture ratio is found to be 0.09 plus or minus 0.05, in agreement with theory. (auth)
