The installation and operation of a 10 kw pool-type reactor on the Stanford University campus are discussed. Experimental facilities include a 40 x 40-inch graphite thermal column and two 6-inch beam poris. Descriptions are given of the site, the building in which the reactor will be constructed, the reactor and its operating characteristics, and the operational procedures which will be employed to insure safe and effective utilization of the new facility.
