ALPHA-PULSE ANALYSIS BY SCINTILLATION DETECTORS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4190373
The light output of Csl(Tl), NaI(Tl), and plastic crystals to alpha particles of 4.68, 5.3, 5.8, 6.05, and 8.78 Mev was investigated and the resolutions for the 5.3 Mev line of po/sup 210/ were respectively found to be 4.5, 5, and 5.5%. The relative efficiency to alpha and beta particles and the pulse height as a function of the energy is given. The branching ratio alpha / alpha + BETA of ThC was determinated by the CsI(Tl) and found equal to 0.358 plus or minus 0.003. (auth)
